I had the pleasure if spending one of my night shifts snuggling these sweet baby girls and last evening they came for their newborn session. These baby girls are the pride and joy of Erin and Daryl and were welcomed 5 weeks early December 27th. Everyone is so happy that they held in as long as they did. Avalon (aka baby A) was the bigger of the two sisters, weighing 5lbs 7oz at birth. Tonight she was the most laid back of the two. She is now up to 5lbs 15 0z, and really likes to eat. Bellamy, baby B, the littlest arrived at 4lbs 8oz and is already 5lbs 5 oz! She required a little more coaxing to sleep tonight. It amazes me how genetics play out and how the genes organize themselves. Each one of the girls takes after one side of the family and as you can see are very individual in their looks. Thank you Erin and Daryl for again having me photograph such special memories for you. I love that I have been able to be a part of so many happy times in your lives. You deserve every happiness. I look forward to watching these babies grow, capturing memories along the way. These cute headbands were made especially for them by my neighbor. (thanks Chris), and the hats knit for them by their Meemaw! Love them. Enjoy!

I got to spend my evening with the sweetest little man who was one of my easiest newborns to date (only a 2hr session!!). Mom Deanna actually booked this session way back in the summer expecting to have her baby around Christmas. Baby Ace was actually Penticton’s New Year’s baby, but due to circumstances beyond the family’s control was actually born in Kelowna. Ace arrived just after 2am on January 1st and weighed in at 7lbs 14 oz. He is making his way back to his birth weight and by the sounds of it is a dream baby for mom and dad. There wasn’t much he didn’t like and I only heard a brief little cry when he decided he needed a snack. Thank you Rene and Deanna for spending the evening with me. Your little boy is a dream. Here are a few images from tonight. I am loving what I see. Enjoy!

Just look at these bright blue eyes! Devyn is just a cute now as she was a newborn back in the summer. At 7 months old, Devyn has mastered sitting, can get herself shifted around on her tummy and is so very much wanting to crawl. She has the brightest smile and is very expressive. I love this age!! I was excited to use my new barrel prop that I just picked up the night before our session. My husband found it on craigslist and I just knew I had to have it. Love it! Thank you Andy and Robyn for bringing Devyn back to see me for her 6month (ok 7 month) photo session. I look forward to seeing her again this summer to celebrate her one year birthday. Enjoy!

I just couldn’t help myself. Just finished this session but I had to get to these images. Introducing Chloe Rayne, sweet daughter of my friend and co-worker. Chloe is starting off my 2012 newborn season and what a doll she is. This little one also couldn’t wait until her due date! Born 4 weeks early on Dec 15th, she weighed in at 6lbs, and now already weighs 6lbs 8oz! Chloe was very cooperative for me. She did let out a peep with certain positioning but did settle again quite easily. She peed on probably every blanket, in every prop, but did save the messy stuff until her diaper was on at the end of our session. Well behaved already! Thank you Kaila and Shawn for having me document these memories for you. I am super excited to show you the rest. Enjoy!

This sweet little girl arrived exactly one week after her mom’s maternity session. She was not actually due until early January but decided that she needed to be here before Christmas! Pressly made her debut three weeks early on Dec 14th, weighing 6lbs 14 oz. She is still so little just now back to her birthweight. Her Grandma made her this pretty purple flowered headband, pink cocoon, and matching flower so we just had to incorporate them into our shoot. Pressly though was not a big fan of having anything on her head so it did take a little bit of bum patting to keep her settled. Thank you Andrea and Steve for having me capture this special time for you. I look forward to watching Pressly grow. This session was the last session of 2011! What a fantastic year it has been!!
