Baby Miles was born November 3rd weighing 8 lbs 2 oz. Today this sweet family made their way down the valley so I could meet him. I first met Laura and Curtis just over 2 years ago when London was born. She turned two at the end of August and joined us today. She has the cutest smile and did so well snuggling her baby brother for me. Grandma came along and when London was done her photos they went for lunch in our little town and hung out at the library just across from my studio. Miles loved his soother. It took a little for him to fall asleep but once asleep I was able to move through several set ups. By the end of our session he had had enough but once in his carseat settled into slumber. I am sure both kids slept all the way home. Thank you Laura and Curtis for trusting me once again with your newborn memories. I love seeing my past little clients grow!
I first met Shera and Jim at their maternity session at the beginning of October and today I got to meet sweet Kinsley. Kinsley Margaret arrived November 5th and weighed 8 lbs 5 oz. She is long and lean and I wouldn’t have guessed she weighed this much. Big brother Cullen joined us today and was just as thrilled with photos as he was at our last session. It took lots of convincing and finally with the bribe of fruit snacks he was amenable to “one picture”. I really didn’t think it was going to happen though. Once everyone left, I got to cuddle and do my thing. By the end of our session Kinsley was exhausted and I hear she slept for a long time even after she got home! She is such a cutie and I love the images she let me capture. Thanks Shera for spending the morning with me.
When you add young boys to a maternity shoot you can never quite plan anything. It has been almost 4 years since I last photographed Natalie and Jim. Today we met up to capture memories of their third pregnancy. This little one will arrive early in January. They have decided to keep the gender a surprise. Daniel is now 6, and Peter 4 and I have been privileged to photograph Natalie during all of her pregnancies and then meet each baby as a newborn. We started in studio and then headed out for a few family images. I was surprised the rain never materialized as forecast but it was super windy. These boys are busy and I captured them just as they are! Thank you Natalie and Jim for having me capture these special memories for you. I can’t wait to meet your new little one!
Nash Cohen arrived October 30th weighing 7 lbs 13 oz and was welcomed by his two older brothers. I photographed Kade for his first year and it is hard to believe he is already 5 and in kindergarten. I met 20 month old Atlas for the first time today and he came right to me and let me pick him up. This is usually a pretty good indication that a child will cooperate for photos! 5 year olds do really well with new babies as did Kade. He only got distracted for a moment and let go of his brother. (no babies were hurt in the making of these images ha ha) My fave image is of these three boys. Just look at how loving they are to their baby. Nash wasn’t a big fan of being moved around but did settle with a soother and my shushing app. He has the most perfect round head and flawless skin. Thank you Danielle and Joel for once again trusting me with your precious newborn memories. I look forward to watching Nash grow in his first year!
Back in May I photographed Cassy & Mike with an engagement/pregnancy announcement session and yesterday we met up to capture a few memories now that baby is almost ready to make his or her appearance. When we booked this session a few weeks back our intention was a fall backdrop and never would have expected a snowy winter shoot. It was chilly but I love the snow mixed with the remaining fall leaves. Cassy is due in less than three weeks and looks amazing. Having the gender of her baby a surprise many have said boy, but I think girl. We will know soon enough. Thanks Cassy and Mike for deciding to do these images. I can’t wait to meet your new little one!
