Zachary Elias :: 3 1/2 months {Okanagan Baby and Child Photographer, Okanagan Family Photographer}

Little Zachary may not have grown under his mommy’s heart but he has sure grown in it. This sweet little boy was born Jan 30th in Florida to a girl who loved him enough to give him a better life. She chose a wonderful loving family to be Zachary’s forever family. Born just a week early, he weighed 6lbs 13oz, but his journey to his forever family was not without some challenges. Zachary was born addicted and spent several weeks in the NICU withdrawing from drugs his birth mother consumed while pregnant. While his forever family waited back home on the sunshine coast, his mommy Karen travelled to Florida to be by his side.  Once healthy enough to leave the hospital, mommy and baby travelled to Bellingham to wait for the official paperwork to go through and finally two weeks ago he was able to come home to Canada, to his patiently waiting family. Karen and I met several years ago at church and I was thrilled when she asked me to do Zachary’s first photos. Babies that have been through withdrawal often have issues with overstimulation so we really weren’t sure how this session was going to play out. He really hasn’t been around anyone but his family so I was happy that Zachary was so relaxed with me. He barely fussed and even gave me some little smiles. He is a happy, healthy growing boy who is so very loved by his parents, two brothers and sister. Thank you Karen for bringing your newest little one to see me. You have truly been blessed and Zachary is such a lucky boy.
