I have know Cassy since she was just a new graduate nurse, and we now both work together in the perinatal unit at KGH. Although Cassy and Mike got engaged at Christmas, tonight we met up to capture some engagement photos with a little twist. As a rule I don’t do engagement photos but these were right up my alley. The weather was the warmest it has been all spring and the orchard blossoms were in full bloom. Ellie joined in on our session and was very excited to be able to be in some photos. If you look real close you will understand why. Thanks Cassy and Mike for having me document this exciting time in your lives. I am excited for our upcoming shoot this November!
It has been awhile since I have done a shoot purely for me and I have wanted to do a shoot like this for a long time. These two girls of mine have a shared passion and love of dance. I am in awe at what they can do and their dances take my breath away. Brooklyn lives and breathes dance and I often find her in her pointe shoes practising in the living room. She is constantly tapping (even though she doesn’t take tap classes). She admires her big sister and is constantly pushing her self to keep up. Avery is a natural and I love watching her on stage. We have just wrapped up two back to back dance competitions and both girls are sad they are over. I am excited to see what next year brings. As it is finally spring (I think) and the trees are in bloom, we had to take full advantage tonight. I am super thrilled with what we came up with. All images were chosen and approved!
I was so thrilled to be able to fit in this newborn session. As my May babies are slow to arrive, today I was free to snuggle and photograph this handsome little guy. Ethan was born on April 21st and weighed just 6 lbs 10 oz. and for his session was joined by big sister Lexie, who is 3. Lexie loves her brother and did a great job snuggling him for their images together. Ethan slept on and off between his snacks but when asleep was like a marshmallow, so chill and relaxed. He did like to be wrapped for sure and wasn’t a fan of being on his tummy. Thank you Shona and Craig for having me capture these sweet memories for you, and thanks Anna for the referral!
Rosie will be 7 months old on May 3rd and today I got to spend some time getting to know her and her momma. She is such a sweet, easy going baby who was super happy for our entire session. I love her toothy smile. She has learned to sit recently and I can tell that she is really wanting to be on the move. Rosie was the perfect age for a sitter session. She sits well, doesn’t make strange, and most of all stays where we put her. I am in love with the images from our session but my favourite has to be the one where Rosie is wearing her grandmas christening gown. It was absolutely perfect and very sentimental. Mom also brought along this beautiful colourful quilt for us to use. Thank you Megan for having me capture these precious memories of Rosie. I can’t wait to see her again for her one year session in the fall.
