I never shy away from an older newborn session and I am so happy to have spent part of my day with this adorable baby. Blakely Marie was born Sept 5th and weighed 7 lbs 15 oz. Picking her up today I am pretty sure she is close to 9 lbs of squishy snuggly, goodness. Blakely slept for me for the first half of our session and let me get through lots of set ups before she needed a snack. Being an older baby it took a bit to get her to sleep again as she was super interested in looking around and scoping me out. Dad is a hockey player over seas and was here for her arrival but had to return shortly after. With technology he was able to see part of our session on FaceTime. Thank you Loretta for contacting me to capture these sweet newborn memories for you. Blakely was a great little model and I enjoyed getting to know you both. Here are just a few from our session.
Several weeks back Ashley inquired about a special session to commemorate her sweet little girl’s one year birthday as well as to capture the special bond that exists between a mamma and her breastfeeding baby. I jumped at the chance and today I met little Amelia. She has the bluest eyes and strawberry blonde hair and these squishy, kissable cheeks. She loves her mamma time for sure and was ready for some cuddles and nursing when she arrived. As a maternal/neonatal nurse, helping new moms breastfeed is very much a part of my daily work activities. For most (not everyone) it becomes a very intimate nurturing time between mom and child. I was privileged to be asked to be a part of this today. Thanks Ashley for bringing your sweet girl to see me. I am so very thrilled with how your images turned out. Here is just a sample.
I am over the moon with how todays session went with this beautiful little family. It is our fourth session together and as you can imagine with twins, it only is getting easier. Greyson and Elle will be 4 in January. They are still full of spunk and personality which makes for a fun time. They really are sweeties! My goal for this session was to capture emotion and these few images that I chose for the sneak peek do just that. There were so many I love it was really hard to choose. It is always special for grandparents to have images with their grandchildren and so we were joined at the end of our session to do just that. Thank you Anna and Chris for again choosing me to capture your family memories. I have loved watching these littles grow!
I was excited when Kaitlyn called me about this shoot last week and so happy I could squeeze her beautiful twin baby girls in for a newborn session yesterday. Oaklyn and Haiden were born August 24th at 35 weeks and 5 days and weighed 5 lbs 6 oz. There was only one gram separating their weights which is pretty amazing for twins. As they were early they were born at KGH and spent a couple of weeks in the NICU. During their stay mom and dad were on evacuation alert from a nearby forest fire but thankfully all was well and they had a place to go home to on discharge. I just missed them in the nicu as those weeks just happened to be my summer vacation. Oaklyn is the more chill of the two while Haidyn seems to be a little more needy. Seems to always be the way with twins! Both girls were very particular to having their arms and hands touched so we had to be super careful to not disturb them once we finally had them settled. I am so grateful for meeting a fellow photographer last week who was more than willing to be my helper. I couldn’t have done it with out her. Thanks Jolene!! Near the end of our session Pickles the miniature schnauzer joined us for a requested image from mom and dad. I am thrilled with how it turned out. Thank you so much Kaitlyn and Devon for trusting us with your sweet newborn memories. I am sure you will look back at them in years to come and remember what a blur their first few months were.
It has been almost a year since I saw Tim and Holly and their littles. I have been watching this family grow for the past few years and yesterday we met up for a fall family session. Holden was just a newborn at our last session and he has grown into such a sweet little boy and how can Chloe be three already. The clouds were looming but we only got a few little drops of rain near the very end of our session. Holden wasn’t too sure about me and was happiest standing and walking holding onto his dad’s hands. He also was pretty happy sitting and playing in the dirt. Chloe showed me some of her dance twirls and sang me some songs. Thank you Tim and Holly for having me capture these memories for you. I have enjoyed watching your family grow.
